This procedure can heal many issues in the knee. The stem cells first target inflammation and guide the removal of scar tissue then guide the cellular regeneration of damaged tissue. We Perform the Knee Stem Cell Treatment Tuesday through Saturday. This is because the lab only cultivates the mesenchymal stem cells Monday through Friday. The Stem Cells are suspended in Sodium Lactate and delivered fresh for treatment. This means they are only viable for 4 days after cultivation and we prefer to get them into patients within 48 hours.

My Knee Success Story – Repaired ACL and Meniscus

Below are Joshua Ketner (Founder of Dream Body Clinic) knee MRI’s. They were both done at the same lab, with the same GE 1.5 tesla MRI machine. The first MRI was done May 2015 and the follow up was done February of 2016. The May 2015 MRI showed a torn ACL, 3rd degree lesion of the anterior meniscus, 1st degree tear of the posterior meniscus and both anterior meniscus had 2nd degree tears. The first day you arrive is to settle in and rest. You fast that night and next morning until we do a blood panel around 9am. You will have to fast until we get the blood panel results back or book enough time in Puerto Vallarta to wait until the next morning. We also need to know what medications you are on as some medications need to be stopped for a few days leading up to this treatment. We need at least 7 day notice to have treatment ready for you as the cells are only viable for 4 days from when we receive them.

3. The Doctor prepares the knee by cleaning it with a mix of iodine and microdasyn

Side Effects or Risks

The only side effects that have been documented are the following:

• 4 patients now out of hundreds of knee treatments have experienced increased inflammation which began about a week after treatment. The cause was excessive fluid to the joint. In the past we used a combo of Stem Cells and Platelet Rich Plasma. We have now stopped the addition of PRP. We provide tramacet and prednisone to all patients as a way to deal with this if it occurs.
• A very small percentage of patients for this treatment will be non-responders. As with any medication or treatment there is always a chance of no change. Tylenol does not always fix a headache as an example.
• This treatment consists of an injection and as with any injections there is a very small risk of infection. We use iodine and microdacyn to minimize the chance of infection and so far we have never had a patient get an infection.
• We do not treat patients that have had cancer within the past 5 years. There is still no conclusive evidence linking stem cells to make cancer worse, but we prefer to stay on the side of safety until more information is available.
