It is a non-invasive procedure where we take 50 million mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) mixed with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and inject 25 million MSCs into each side of the penis shaft. The P-shot has gained popularity due to its purported ability to improve erectile function and promote sexual satisfaction. There are several ways in which the stem cell p shot works. MMPs can help facilitate the removal and remodeling of scar tissue by promoting tissue degradation and redesigning the tissue structure.

How do MSCs Guide Neovascularization for the Stem Cell P Shot?

The role of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in guiding neovascularization, or the formation of new blood vessels, in the context of the stem cell P-shot is not yet fully elucidated. However, there are several potential mechanisms by which MSCs may contribute to neovascularization:However, it is important to note that the specific mechanisms by which MSCs guide neovascularization in the context of the stem cell P-shot are still under investigation. We have found that our patients are seeing major improvements in blood flow in the penis after the stem cell p shot. This has been a cure for erectile dysfunction for many patients and others have benefited from being able to maintain much harder erections.

Secretion of angiogenic factors: MSCs have been shown to secrete various angiogenic factors, such as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), fibroblast growth factor (FGF), and hepatocyte growth factor (HGF). These factors can stimulate the proliferation, migration, and differentiation of endothelial cells, which are crucial for the formation of new blood vessels.

Recruitment of stem/progenitor cells: MSCs can recruit and mobilize other stem or progenitor cells from the bone marrow or nearby tissues. These recruited cells, including endothelial progenitor cells, can contribute to neovascularization by differentiating into endothelial cells and incorporating into growing blood vessels.

Paracrine signaling: MSCs can release various soluble factors that can stimulate the growth and maturation of blood vessels. These factors, which may include cytokines, growth factors, and extracellular matrix molecules, can promote endothelial cell proliferation, migration, and tube formation.

Stabilization of blood vessels: MSCs can help stabilize newly formed blood vessels by promoting the deposition of extracellular matrix components, such as collagen and fibronectin. This stabilization is important for the long-term functionality and maintenance of blood vessels.

Does the Stem Cell P Shot Increase Penis Size?

This is probably the most common question we get asked and the answer is no. The stem cells help with guiding regeneration of nerves and new blood vessels, but they don’t grow the penis. 

Pre Treatment Care Protocol

We recommend that patients stop taking any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) at least 1 week before treatment and staying off of them for at least 2 weeks post treatment. NSAIDs work by confusing where inflammation is and MSCs work by seeking out inflammation so they don’t work together.

Post Treatment Care Protocol

We recommend abstaining from sex or masturbation for 72 hours post treatment.

After treatment you are welcome to get back to your normal routine and activities.

We recommend abstaining from alcohol for at least 2 to 6 weeks post treatment. Alcohol won’t kill MSCs, but if you drink too much then the liver will become inflamed and MSCs target inflammation. This will send MSCs there that should have gone elsewhere, especially because the liver is the only organ that regenerates itself.

We recommend that patients don’t start using any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), Prednisone, or anti-inflammatory supplements such as gingko biloba or turmeric for at least 2 weeks post treatment and preferably for 6 weeks post treatment.

We recommend that patients don’t have any corticoid steroid injections such as a cortisone shot for at least 3 months post treatment and preferably for at least 6 months as MSC Treatments typically see peak results 3 to 6 months post treatment.

Side Effects or Risks

  • As with any treatment involving injections there is a small chance of infection. We use sterile techniques to prevent infection and have never had an infection.
  • We do not treat patients that have had cancer within the past 5 years. There is still no conclusive evidence linking stem cells to make cancer worse, but we prefer to stay on the side of safety until more research has been done on cancer effects from stem cells. So far research points towards stem cells having a positive effect on many cancers, but we are not focused on cancer treatments.
  • As with any medical treatment there is no guarantee of results, but our outcomes have been great for the vast majority of patients.
