Supplements: The following are supplements that we have found help patients
Undenatured Type 2 Collagen
Undenatured Type 2 Collagen is our top pick for a supplement to compliment patients doing any of our stem cell orthopedic treatments.
We have seen patients with 3rd degree arthritis in their knees get to full recovery with the stem cell knee treatment plus daily supplementation of this product.
We have seen patients with herniated discs rehydrate their discs back to normal size and shape with the stem cell lower back treatment plus daily supplementation of this product.
The stem cells act like the managers on a construction site, guiding the rebuilding. For patients with arthritis this means the MSCs are guiding the regeneration of the cartilage. Undenatured Type 2 collagen is like the building blocks needed to rebuild the cartilage. The stem cells can heal and repair without this supplement, but we have found that patients heal much faster and better when it is taken.
The same applies for ligaments, tendons, labrum, meniscus and spinal discs. This supplement is highly recommended if you did stem cell treatment with us to heal any of these issues.
1 pill of 40mg per day is a solid recommended dose. Going higher on dosing is not needed. Do your own research to determine if this is a good supplement for you.
This is not medical advice, but a friendly recommendation to help you heal faster.

Vitamin A – Retinol
Vitamin A has been a life saver for my skin. I (Josh Ketner) am 43 years old and I still deal with zits. I take a shot of Sostenon 250 for TRT every week and the one downside to TRT is that it makes your skin secrete more oil. This leads to more clogged pores and thus pimples. I never knew what to do until I dug in and researched natural ways to deal with it. I found that vitamin a had potential to help. I first tried Accutane, a pharmaceutical version of vitamin a that is very potent and I don’t recommend. High doses of vitamin a can lead to liver issues. I soon switched to this recommended version of vitamin an and my skin has been great. Here are some other benefits for vitamin a and why we recommend it to any patient as it is very safe in low doses like 1 pill of 25,000 iu per day.
- Support night vision and overall eye health (vitamin A is needed to make rhodopsin in the retina)
- Help keep skin, mucous membranes, and the lining of the airways, gut, and urinary tract intact
- Support immune function, especially against infections when someone is actually deficient
- Aid growth and cell turnover (important in deficiency, pregnancy, and childhood development)
- Help the body use iron and maintain healthy red blood cells in people who are low in vitamin A
- Sometimes marketed for acne, wound healing, or “anti-aging” skin — results are mixed, and high-dose oral vitamin A is not a safe DIY skin treatment
DHEA – Dehydroepiandrosterone
DHEA is the precursor for producing testosterone. I (Josh Ketner) am on TRT. I take 1 shot of sostenon 250 every week. This shuts down my natural testosterone production so you would think taking DHEA would be pointless. There are some key benefits to using DHEA if you are on TRT and also stacking pregnenolone.
When you use TRT you stop producing testosterone naturally in your testicles and they shrink. They don’t go away, but they get smaller. Some guys don’t like this and they use HCG to counteract the effects. The problem there is that it competes with the TRT you are injecting and increases aromatization (estradiol conversion) which then means you need an aromatase inhibitor like anastrazol. Anastrozol is a female cancer drug and it tears your veins up with long term use. So instead we recommend dealing with the upstream issues with DHEA and Pregnenalone. By combining 100mg of DHEA with anywhere from 100 to 300mg pregnenolone you can keep your testicles from getting smaller and help improve your mood tremendously. Everyone reacts a bit different though so this is just a recommendation for guys on TRT to try out. You can also add 400mg of Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) to help the pregnenalone work better and prevent aromatization.
Now for more info on DHEA as a supplement.
Taking a DHEA pill is not the same as taking testosterone, and in many people it does not raise testosterone much. Where DHEA sitsYour adrenal glands make DHEA (and DHEA-S). From there the body can convert it in steps:DHEA → androstenedione → testosterone → (in some tissues) estradiol (estrogen)That conversion happens mainly in tissues that have the right enzymes (testes, ovaries, adrenal, skin, fat, prostate, brain). DHEA itself is a weak androgen.
How DHEA supplement works
- You swallow DHEA.
- It is absorbed and a lot is converted in the liver to DHEA-S, the storage form in blood.
- Peripheral tissues pull DHEA/DHEA-S out of circulation and convert some of it into androstenedione, then testosterone, and some into estrogens.
- How much becomes testosterone vs estrogen depends on age, sex, body fat, and enzyme activity (especially 3β-HSD, 17β-HSD, and aromatase).
What actually happens in people
- Older adults with low DHEA: small rises in DHEA, and sometimes modest changes in testosterone or estrogen — effects are inconsistent.
- Healthy young/middle-aged men with normal testosterone: extra DHEA often does little to total testosterone. The testes already make far more testosterone than DHEA can add.
- Women: DHEA more often raises androgens (and sometimes estrogen). That is why it is studied more for low androgen symptoms in women than as a “testosterone booster” in men.
- Some of the DHEA can also become estrogen, so it is not a clean one-way ticket to testosterone.
DHEA is an upstream raw material, not testosterone. A supplement can feed that pathway, but conversion is limited and unpredictable. It is not a reliable way to raise testosterone in men who already make it normally, and it can change estrogen and other steroids too. Dose, labs, and medical supervision matter because DHEA is a hormone, not a vitamin.
Pregnenolone
Pregnenolone has a lot of benefits for mood and hormones, but this recommendation is more geared towards our TRT patients though there will be info at the end as to how it can benefit anyone.
