9 Things to Know Before Getting Stem Cell Neck Treatment in Mexico

Chronic neck pain from worn discs, arthritic joints or irritated nerves can affect sleep, work and everyday movement. If you want a non-surgical option after conservative care, here are nine things to know before you book stem cell neck treatment at Dream Body Clinic in Bucerías, near Puerto Vallarta.

1. The protocol is 100 million cells around the neck, plus an IV

Four injections of 25 million mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) each, 100 million in total, are placed around the most affected vertebrae, together with PRP. A separate 100 million MSC IV follows, then NAD+ and high-dose vitamin C. The local injections are peri-spinal, placed around the affected levels under deep-field ultrasound, rather than into the disc, and the protocol is designed to avoid anesthesia.

2. The cells are made in the clinic’s own lab

The cells are allogeneic MSCs from umbilical cord Wharton’s jelly and placenta, not embryonic stem cells. They are processed in Dream Body Clinic’s own ISO-certified laboratory, which holds COFEPRIS-related licenses, and the clinic provides third-party batch testing to every patient before treatment.

3. There is one published price, with the MRI included

The all-inclusive package is $8,700 USD. It includes a cervical spine MRI, a full blood panel, a physician consult with the injection plan, the local injections with PRP, the 100 million cell IV, the NAD+ and vitamin C IV, and facility care. If the MRI shows you aren’t a candidate, you pay only $500 for the MRI and $300 for the blood panel.

4. It is used for the common sources of neck pain

Herniated or bulging cervical discs, degenerative disc disease, facet joint arthritis, early to moderate stenosis, ligament and tendon injury, muscle guarding, irritated nerves, and persistent pain after prior neck surgery when the MRI still shows treatable supporting-tissue damage. The cells work mainly by signaling: they aim to calm inflammation, limit scar tissue and guide the body’s own repair cells. Results vary.

5. It is not right for everyone

Candidates are typically adults with neck pain lasting more than three months who want a non-surgical option after conservative care, ideally with MRI evidence of disc, facet, ligament or nerve involvement. The most common reasons for declining treatment are large osteophytes (bone spurs) or a complete structural tear. The clinic does not treat anyone who has had cancer in the past 5 years, as a precaution. Some patients do not respond. Progressive weakness, worsening gait, trouble swallowing or signs of spinal-cord compression need specialist evaluation first.

6. An MRI is required, and you get it on site

The MRI is done at the clinic during your stay. If you have a written radiology report from the past year, email it (the report, not the images) to info@dreambodyclinic.net for a first read, but a new MRI is still required. The MRI space is tight, about 1 ft (30 cm) from the bed to the magnet, so call ahead if you may not fit and the clinic will schedule it at a partner lab.

7. Plan for at least five days in town

Day 1 arrive and rest, Day 2 bloodwork and MRI, Day 3 physician review of the MRI and candidacy decision, then payment if you proceed, Day 4 treatment, Day 5 fly home. Common arrival patterns are Sun–Thu, Mon–Fri, Tue–Sat or Wed–Sun. Local injections take about 20 minutes and the IV one to two hours. You can combine this with other Dream Body Clinic treatments on the same trip.

8. Recovery is gradual

Most patients walk immediately afterward, and mild tightness or soreness for 1 to 3 days is the most commonly described effect. The clinic advises about two weeks without strenuous exercise, then about four weeks of light physical rehab, with nighttime decompression stretching. The first 6 to 8 weeks are the engraftment period, followed by a gradual return to exercise. Peak results are typically seen 3 to 6 months after treatment, and some patients take longer. There is also a very small risk of infection.

9. Preparation matters

  • Stop NSAIDs at least 1 week before treatment and for at least 2 weeks after.
  • Avoid cortisone or corticosteroid injections and pills for about 3 months before treatment.
  • Bring prior imaging reports.
  • Tell the clinic about cancer history, infection, blood-thinning medication and implanted devices.

The clinic says steroids and NSAIDs interfere with how MSCs respond to inflammation. Always check with your own doctor before stopping any prescribed medication.
